In the past three years,I have learnt how to play basketball.Once,when I saw some students playing basketball on the playground,I felt very surprised.Ithought that it would be fun if I joined them,so I asked them for help.With the help of them,I made great progress in basketball.From then on,I was more and more interested in playing it.I always feel excited and active after playing asketball now and that makes me love my life.

这个连词if已经连接了两个句子,so独立开一个句子比较好.
2.I made great progress in basketball变成I made great progress in playing basketball 更能强调“在打篮球”方面取得了进步
3.I always feel excited and active
个人觉得active偏向于“积极,主动”,这里用energetic精力充沛的,充满活力的 会比较好.
再问： 谢谢你哟，只是在你的观点1中，我觉得你没有理解我的意思呀；在观点3中，因为我们没有学过energetic，只学过active，呵呵，谢谢！
再答： I thought that it would be fun if I joined them,so I asked them for help. 你想表达的应该是“我觉得如果自己也能加入到他们当中，跟他们一起打篮球的话，那应该会很有趣，所以我就请他们教我打篮球。”吧？ 其实我个人觉得你这个表达是可以的，不过我当年类似这么写的时候，老师都喜欢把So给我改成独立开一句，中文里面的一段话下来，可以全部都是逗号，最后只用一个句号来结束。而翻译成英文时，则经常都是很多个独立的句子。 I thought that it would be fun if I joined them,so I asked them for help. 我觉得是行的， 也可以是 I thought it would be fun if I could join them,so I asked them for help. 把引导宾语从句的that省去，后面用典型的虚拟语气if I could do sth. 这种比较常见点 active ['æktiv] adj.活跃的, 积极的, 起作用的, 灵活的 adj.[语]主动的 如果把它理解成，运动过后，整个人都处于兴奋活跃当中，其实也是行的。
