The Foreign Languages Department of the Guangdong Broadcasting Television University(the engaging party)has engaged Mr.Richard S.Simmoms(the engaged party)as a teacher of English .The two parties in the spirit of friendship and cooperation have entered into an agreement to sign and to comply with the present contract.
1.The term of service is one academic year,that is form Sep.1,1986,the first day of the term of the office to July 31,1987,the last day of the term of office.
2.By mutual consultation the work of the engaged party is decided as follows:
(1) Training teachers of English and students taking refresher courses;
(2) Conducting senior English classes and advising students on extracurricular activities of language;
(3) Compiling English text-books for Broadcasting and Television Universities and also supplementary teaching materials,undertaking tape and videotape recording and other work connected with language;
(4) Having 16 to 20 teaching periods in a week.Giving lectures to the students aways from Guangzhou city if necessary.
3.The engaged party works six days a week and eight hours a day.The engaged party will have legal holidays prescribed by the Christmas holiday.The vacation is fixed by the school calendar.
4.The engaging party pays the engaged party a monthly salary of eight hundred yuan(Chinese currency),half of which(four hundred yuan)will be paid in HongKong dollars(according to present rate)and provides him with various benefits.
5.The engaged party must observe the regulations of the Chinese Government concerning residence,wages and benefits,and travel for foreigners when entering,leaving and passing through the territory of the country,and must follow the working system of the engaging party.
The engaging party welcomes any advice and suggestions put forward by the engaged party and will take them into favourable consideration in so far as circumstances permit.The engaged party will observe the decisions of the engaging party and is to do his work in the spirit of active cooperation to fulfill his assigned tasks.
6.Neither party shall cancel the contract without sufficient cause or reason.
If the engaging party finds it imperative to terminate other contract,then,in addition to bearing corresponding expenses for salary and benefits,it must pay the engaged party one month’s extra salary as compensation allowance,and arrange for him and his family to go back to their own country within half a month.
If the engaged party submits his resignation in the course of his service,the engaging party,and the angaged party will no longer enjoy the salary and benefits provided.When leaving China,the engaged party and his family will have to pay for everything themselves.

广州广播电视大学外国语学院（聘方）已经聘请了Mr.Richard S.Simmoms（受聘方）为英语老师.本着友好协作的精神双方已经同意签署并遵守以下的合同：
1.这项工作的时间是一个学期也就是从1986年9月1日开始第一天上班到1987年1月31日结束.
2.通过双方协商,受聘方的工作职责如下：
（1）培训英语教师并对学生进行训练课程
（2）知道高级英语班并且在课外英语活动上给他们建议
（3）为广播电视大学编写教材并补充教学材料,负责录音录像记录及其他与英语相关的工作
（4）每周要上16到20个课时的课.在必要的情况下出差到广州以外讲授课程.
3.受聘方每周工作六天,每天8个小时.受聘方享有由圣诞节规定的法定节日.这个假期由学校的日程表决定.
4.聘方每月支付受聘方工资人名币800元,工资的一半（400元）将以港币的形式支付给受聘方（根据目前的汇率）,并且给予受聘方多种优惠.
5.受聘方必须遵守中国政府关于外籍人员在进入,离开,越过中国领土时的居住住所,薪水,福利和形成方面的规章制度,并且还要遵守聘方的工作系统.
在条件允许的情况下,聘方欢迎并且将仔细的考虑受聘方提出的任何意见和建议.受聘方要遵守聘方的决定并且以积极配合的态度完成分配给他的任务.
6.双方没有充足的原因和理由不得取消这份合约.如果聘方急需终止合约,除要支付给受聘方相应的工资和利益开支,聘方还要支付给受聘方一个月的额外工资作为赔偿津贴,并在半个月内安排受聘方和其家人回国.如果受聘方在任职期内递交辞呈,那么受聘方将不再享有聘方提供的工资和福利待遇.当离开中国时所有的费用将由受聘方及其家人自己承担.
