这个地方用was writting,表示去年一年她一直在写,强调动作的持续性.
如果用wrote,在前半句的句法上讲,没有什么问题,表示去年她写了书.但是后面半句but I don't know whether she has finished it 表示我是不确定的,所以不能用过去时.
