而不是I want to buy this one.

people in Australia said that too,the sentence"i wnat to buy this one".
i think you went to a formal cloths shop,
Wealthy people goes there,and they sometimes have to use formal language.(that's my point of view)
People use different levels (formal,informal or colloquial etc) of language depends on who are the audiences.
