人的思维是依靠语言来进行的,没有语言就没法思维.语言不同就造成了思维方法的不同.可以认为语言是思维的载体,当然语言本身也需要一个载体,就是文字.从历史发展来看,西方人思想方法的基础是形式逻辑思维体系.腓尼基人因没有方便的文字载体而发明了字母,随之有了希腊的形式逻辑.我们的语言文字没有抽象化,没有建立形式逻辑思维体系,是因为我们因有了方便的文字载体――木椟、竹简从而保留了象形文字,也就形成了一种模拟思维的方法,这是一种隐喻的方法,它没有高度抽象的推演方法.所以归根到底来说,之所以会造成以上的思维方式的差距,是因为自古以来我们的语言载体的不同从而逐渐影响着使我们得思维存在了差异.最后,中英思维走了不同的路,但有很多是共同的,要走好结合之路.中西合璧要做到水乳交融是很困难的.首先要求我们对历史、哲学的基本观点,要做全面的审视,才能有所创造.

The reason why we Chinese character has not become abstract and built formal logical thinking system, is that we have convenient word carriers-wood strips and bamboo strips, thus restrain the hieroglyph and form a method of imitation. It is something like a kind of matephor, and not highly abstract. To sum up, it is the difference of the carriers that cause the gap of the thinking pattern. At last, the Chinese and English mind develop toward different direction. However, there are many common things between them, and we had better make better joint. It is difficult to achieve complete hamony. First of all, we must have a comprehensive look on the historical and philosophical basic viewpoints.
