以前一直学的是英国的官方名称叫the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,简称United Kingdom,缩写为UK.
可是在这届的北京2008年奥运会上,英国运动员身上的英文都是Great Britain,缩写为GBR.
为什么奥运会上英国的官方名称叫Great Britain?而不是United Kingdom?
