During my one-year stay in the US,I took a chance to see a lot of the country during holidays.There are many ways to travel around America,but I like to choose Greyhound,for I found it cheap,convenient,and exciting.
Greyhound buses go almost everywhere in the US.And with a monthly pass (月票) in hand,you can make a trip around America and go wherever you like .Suppose you start from Washington,D.C,then in five hours you will get to New York City.From there,you can go north to Buffalo,which is not far from the beautiful Niagara Falls.Then you can go westward to “Windy City” ,Chicago,and then continue to the world-famous Yellow Stone National Park.
To go with Greyhound is very convenient.Usually,they have several buses going to the same place in one day,so you can choose whichever suits (适合) you best,instead of waiting for just one or two trains in a day.If you are strong enongh and ready to put up with fatigue (忍受疲劳) ,you can even tour a city during a day,and in the evening get on a night bus to sleep .The next morning,you will be in another city several hundreds of miles away.Thus,you will be able to travel more places in less time.
Greyhound buses are not uncomfortable.It is comfortable enough for you to sleep.Smoking is not allowed on the bus.You can smoke when the bus stops at a bus station.On each bus,there is a small toilet at the back.Greyhound Bus company offers inexpensive prices for forengn travelers.With a valid passport (有效护照) ,you can have a 7-day International pass of US $ 175,a 15-day ticket for US $ 250,or a 30-day pass for only US $ 325.
