My old house
My name is Sandra Cooper and I’m an English teacher in Shanghai.I live in an apartment.It’s a little small.So I miss my old house very much.When I was a little girl,I lived on a farm in the north of England.My parent’s farmhouse was very large and had three floors.
We spent most of our time on the first floor.The kitchen and the living room were next to each other on this floor.Because it was a large house,it was quite cold in winter.However,there was a big fireplace in the living room.We liked to sit in front of the fire to keep warm in winter in old houses.
Under the house was the basement.My family put things we didn’t use there.My mother’s collections were also there on the shelf.She loved teapots from different countries.Most of them were from China.I guess that’s why I always wanted to work in China.And now my dream has come true.
